A Bit About Bob
I first started working with cars in 1988 whilst working for Millers of Falkirk, a Ford dealership which afforded me the chance to work with cars of all sizes. In my 10 years with the company I was responsible for the PDI department (Preparation, Delivery & Inspection) and maintaining a COSHH certificate (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health). On top of managing and building a good rapport with staff and supervising the forecourt, I took a hands-on approach preparing cars for resale and bringing them up to showroom condition, inside and out. No car would hit the forecourt unless it was valeted to my high standards, something my superiors were always impressed with, and these high standards have continued to serve me well through the years.
After 10 years, I wanted to try something different and moved into the hospitality industry, including the running of my own bar. Recruitment, money handling and stock control were again kept to my high standard and I enjoyed every aspect of my job, either as boss or part of the management structure. I enjoyed 11 years in hospitality, meeting new people from all over the world and making sure those high standards didn’t diminish.
After 11 excellent years in hospitality, a new challenge beckoned and since 2010 I have been working for Ark Housing, supporting adults with learning difficulties and mental health issues so that they can have the opportunity to live on their own with as much independence as possible. After doing such an admirable job, in 2013 Ark Housing was contracted by the City of Edinburgh Council to continue doing their good work. So, since 2013 I have been working for City of Edinburgh Council, providing innovative technology-supported care services to those who need them most.
Now I'm returning to my first love, cars. And with this next step, I hope to be bringing my expertise to your car at your home or place of work, providing the same high standards that have been my signature throughout my whole working life.
